What is DPI for print?
DPI (dots per inch) is a way to describe how much detail an image has at a given print size. Higher effective DPI generally means sharper prints.
The practical definition
Effective DPI is basically: pixels divided by inches. If your design is 3600px wide and you print it at 12 inches wide, the effective DPI is 300.
What DPI should you use?
200 to 299 DPI
Often acceptable for smaller prints and some product types.
Under 200 DPI
More likely to look soft or pixelated. Consider exporting larger.
