How to Calculate DPI Manually
If you don't have access to an online DPI checker, you can calculate it using a simple formula. Take the width of your image in pixels and divide it by the desired width in inches. For example, a 3600px image printed at 12 inches results in 300 DPI.
Common Print Sizes & Required Pixels (for 300 DPI):
- 5x7 inches: 1500 x 2100 px
- 8x10 inches: 2400 x 3000 px
- 12x12 inches: 3600 x 3600 px
- 24x36 inches: 7200 x 10800 px
